The FR1 Scanner was developed by DCR Europe in cooperation with a large supermarket chain. This self-scanning trolley has space for 4 folding crates or 3 folding crates and a beer crate. The trolley has a scanner holder as standard. With the FR Scanner, your customers enjoy the maximum benefits from self-scanning: no delays at the checkout and the crates can be loaded directly into the car boot so that loading and unloading also cost less time. One additional advantage for you is the extra turnover from the sale of folding crates.
The FR1 Scanner is manufactured from high-gloss galvanised, chromated steel wire and flat-oval tubes and has a transparent powder coating. This shopping trolley complies with the European EN 1929 quality standard for shopping trolleys.
What is EN 1929?
All of DCR Europe’s shopping trolleys are produced in accordance with the European EN 1929 standard. For you as a customer, this gives you the extra assurance that you can rely on top-quality products from DCR Europe. Moreover, shopping trolleys that comply with the EN 1929 standard are guaranteed safe for your customers and employees.
A standard is an agreement about a product, service or process. The EN standards are drawn up by the European Committee for Standardisation. They reflect good workmanship in a huge number of fields in industry, the service sector and government. The EN 1929 standard covers all aspects of shopping trolleys, from the size of the basket up to and including the corrosion resistance of the metal used. The standard also takes the protection of the environment, sustainability and consumer safety into account.
Shopping trolleys contain more plastic components than you might think. For example, DCR Europe’s shopping trolleys are fitted as standard with (amongst other things) a plastic child seat, grips and grip caps, basket edge protectors, a bag hook and wheel protectors. Not to mention the optional components, such as the coin locks, the shin protectors, the commercial grips and the Maxi-Cosi.
All plastic components on our shopping trolleys are manufactured from high-quality, sustainable and non-toxic plastics. Most plastic components are available in 11 different colours at no extra charge. So you can easily have your shopping trolleys finished with plastic components in your house colours. Ask your account manager about the possible options.
Your shopping trolleys can be powder-coated in your house colour. This involves applying a layer of polyester that is hardened by means of firing. The coating is extremely durable, has high UV resistance and offers excellent protection against scratches and damage to the metal. The powder-coating process produces less hazardous waste than conventional liquid coating, and the coating residue can be re-used. Thicker coatings are also possible. Polyester powder coatings do not emit any organic substances.
For the coating, you can choose from a wide range of special effects. A semi-transparent coating is also possible. With powder coating, the choice of colours is enormous: you can choose from the full palette of RAL colours, which has more than 200 different colours! A finish in your (exact) house colour is one of the possible options.

When you opt for the original DCR wheels, you get wheels of the highest quality. Our wheels are fitted with hard-wearing industry-standard ball-bearings. For heavy applications, the bearing is pressed into the 3 mm thick fork. Moreover, the fork is galvanised in high-gloss and has a transparent powder coating.
The rubber tread is sprayed around the core of the wheel, making the wheels virtually noiseless and resulting in a low-noise shop. In addition, all the bearings are sealed, so that dust and water have almost no chance of penetrating to the bearings. This makes DCR Europe’s wheels maintenance-free.
